The BWT bestaqua MEBRANE is one of the most efficient reverse osmosis membranes in the world. It really comes into its own when the demand for pure water and the load of unwanted substances are high. Highly efficient, robust and durable, it creates the best conditions for refined coffee of standardized quality.

BWT bestbarista ROC COFFEE is a totally new level in the evolution of water optimization for coffee and all types of hot beverage. Whatever the local water hardness, the system optimizes the best, balanced water for coffee preparation. In the first stage, reverse osmosis technology removes almost all minerals and unwanted substances from the local raw water.

In the second stage, minerals are added to improve the extraction process in the best possible way. This controlled process adjusts the mineral content of the water and the quality of the minerals to perfection. Developed by BWT, the unique mineral mix focusing on magnesium and silicate ensures a balanced, globally standardized quality for the coffee water.

Machine Compatibility Guide

BWT bestbarista ROC COFFEE is designed for professional espresso machines and commercial hot-beverage equipment that require consistent, mineralized water input. It is suitable when:

• The machine connects to a mains water supply (not tank-fed) with ¾" feed inlet
• Your local water hardness varies or exceeds the machine manufacturer's recommended range
• The machine requires a permeate flow of up to 120 L/h (2 L/min)
• Feed water pressure is between 1.5–4 bar and temperature between 5–30°C
• A mains electricity outlet (220–240 V / 50–60 Hz) is available within 1.8 m of the unit

Not suitable for: tank-filled domestic machines, machines with built-in softeners not compatible with RO-processed water, or installations where feed pressure consistently falls below 1.5 bar.

Installation Prerequisites

Before installation, confirm the following are in place:

• Water supply line: ¾" mains cold-water connection (5–30°C) with a shut-off valve, minimum flow 4.2 L/min (250 L/h)
• Drain connection: Open drain or suitable waste line for concentrate discharge (~120 L/h via 8 mm John Guest push-fit)
• Power outlet: Grounded 220–240 V / 50–60 Hz socket within 1.8 m; do not use an extension lead
• Space: Clearance of at least 277 × 297 × 505 mm (W × D × H) plus 100 mm above for service access; unit weighs 17.7 kg — ensure surface load capacity
• Ambient conditions: Installation area must be kept between 5–40°C and free from freezing risk
• Permeate line: ⅜" push-fit connection routed to the coffee machine water inlet
