INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT CALCIUM
The mineral calcium occurs in different concentrations in water and is measured in °dH (degrees of hardness). It is not in itself visible but, depending on the degree of water hardness, forms deposits when heated. These deposits damage electrical household appliances like coffee machines, kettles and tea-makers. Not only do they lead to poorer heat transfer and increased energy consumption, but they make devices less efficient and shorten their service life.
